There has been a little confusion with the new signage near the Bangor-Burns-Rockland Fire Department building.  The "Smokey the Bear" sign has language stating a permit is required to burn.  Please be aware that there is NO open burning allowed within the Village limits. 

Fire pits are allowed according to our ordinance with specific dimensions.  The Fire Department not only covers the Village, but also the towns surrounding our limits.  Those districts do allow open burn; therefore, the sign is more geared for them.  Please contact the clerk's office if you have any questions at 608-486-4084.
